The Basque Government's Vice-Minister for Health, Jesus María Fernández, has presented the Basque Executive's electronic-health strategy in Brussels Invited by the US Mission to the EU and the German Marshall Fund, the Basque Government is the only administration that has been asked to participate in the event.

The Basque Government's Vice-Minister for Health, Jesus María Fernández, invited by the US Mission to the EU and the German Marshall Fund, presented the Basque Government's strategy in the field of electronic health in Brussels. Invitations to the event were also extended to the institutions of the European Union, the academic world and the computer industry on either side of the Atlantic.

The meeting, presided over by the United States Ambassador to the EU, William E. Kennard, served to gather proposals for the future review of the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of electronic health signed last year by the EU and the US. This agreement represents one of the points on the agenda of the EU-US Summit to be held on the 28th of November in Washington.

The US Ambassador acknowledged the contribution of the Basque Government to innovation within the field of healthcare: the Basque Government is the only administration to be invited to participate in the event.
