Geography and Climate
 

The Autonomous Region of the Basque Country or Euskadi is an area of 7,089 square kilometres, and enjoys a privileged location in the north of Spain which permits immediate access to the main European countries. 

Owing to its proximity to the Bay of Biscay, it has an Atlantic climate on its coastal areas and continental climate further inland, and pleasant temperatures with an average 14.7 degrees centigrade ranging from 7.3 degrees centigrade in February to 21 degrees centigrade in July.

Extremes of temperature are not very common, and both winters and summers are pleasant.
